Bachelor degrees in New Zealand usually take 3 years to complete, however a few specific courses are 4 years.  You will be required to show you have an acceptable level of English. Otago University accepts a range of examinations: IELTS, TOEFL , Cambridge Advanced and Proficiency, GCE 'A' level, and International Baccalaureate.

Students can obtain a Graduate Certificate or Diploma (six months or one year), or a Master Degree (one year or more). These qualifications are all internationally recognized and can be taken part-time or full-time depending on the course.

Students studying a full-time English course of 6 months or more and who have an overall band score of 5 on the IELTS exam, may apply to work up to 20 hours per week while they study.
