MANUEL VERA HERNÁNDEZ, MASTER IN JOURNALISM, U.K.

manuelvera.JPGI decided to continue my studies with a Master degree for a number of different reasons.

Firstly, I think it´s important to specialize within my profession and it seemed an interesting idea to do that abroad, in my case England.  That way, I could perfect my English and also because it is a wonderful opportunity within the sector of Journalism to have access to leading resources of the most competent and successful newspapers.

Furthermore the universities I have applied to all have an excellent reputation which is always the one of the most important incentives for students.

I also thought it seemed better for me to have this experience in Europe, in the U.K. because as a European student there are a lot of advantages.  Organising everything is relatively simple such as accommodation and job and study opportunities.  I´m also already familiar with the European journalism scene and that will make settling in much easier.

I´m really excited about starting this new stage in my life, not only academically but for the experience in another university and I can´t wait until I start!

Manu2.jpgTomorrow is my last day… what great friends I leave here!
I know people who have come here from other schools and academies in other parts of the city because the teaching quality and environment for studying, just wasn´t as good as here at CET.  I have friends who are also studying General English and they share my opinion.

We think that CET offers students the best facilities which you simply couldn´t find in any other place. For example, I am writing this in the computer room, which has around 80 computers which are all brand new and connected to the internet and the University of Sydney intranet.

At the same time, the study environment here is very fun and international but this doesn´t mean that people don´t take their studies seriously, as all theManu4.jpg teachers are official teachers from the University of Sydney and they make us work hard.

The facilities and services are amazing (not even comparable with university facilities back home) everything is very personal, medical service 2 minutes away, food halls with Japanese and Chinese restaurants …., all kinds of shops in the centre (from banks to information centres or travel agents, libraries, and all that the University of Sydney offers you, such as an orientation centre for finding accommodation, work, work visa applications, etc.
In my opinion, CET is the best centre that you could find in the whole of Sydney for learning English...
